1. Always do your research on the place.
2. Look online for any places you plan on visiting in the area ahead of time, there may be coupons or discounts that could be printed out.
3. See if there are coupon books that are effective at the place of vacation, i.e. entertainment.com, etc.
4. Use the above to find the cheapest prices for booking travel.
5. Travel lightly and there will be no hassle at the airport.
6. If you can travel in groups and rent a villa, cabin, apartment or vacation home.
7. In some countries there are city tourism passes for all the museums and historical places look into that.
8. Staying in an all-incluisive hotel and taking in the "sights" of the resort is not experiencing the country. get out!
9. Local Cuisine, local people and local culture...always cheaper.
